A still life honoring the lifetime career of a professional firefighter. Memorabilia includes fire hoses, shiny nozzles, an ax, an alarm box, a lithograph of a vintage fire wagon, a cast iron fireman on the run, his helmut and department portrait photograph. I completed the tribute to this fireman, an everyday hero with the element of fire -- the illusion of a lit match -- a subtle touch of living drama to break the boundary of still life.
